CDM 2015
Also known as: Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
CDM 2015 is the main set of UK regulations for managing health, safety and welfare on construction projects, from design to completion.
The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, known as CDM 2015, are the core regulations written for construction. They apply to every construction project and define a set of duty holders, from the client and principal designer to the principal contractor and workers, each responsible for managing risk at their stage.
For a full walkthrough of the duty holders and how CDM fits with the wider legal framework, see our construction health and safety legislation guide.
